How does Sculptra work?
Sculptra is a type of injectable filler that is used to restore volume to the face and address signs of aging such as wrinkles and facial folds. Unlike other fillers that work by physically filling in wrinkles and creases, Sculptra works by stimulating the production of collagen in the skin.
Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible and biodegradable material that has been used in medical applications for decades. When Sculptra is injected into the skin, it triggers a natural response in the body that stimulates the production of collagen. Collagen is a protein that provides structure and support to the skin, and it helps to restore volume and elasticity to the face.
The results of Sculptra injections are gradual and typically become noticeable over several weeks or months as collagen production increases. A series of treatments may be required to achieve optimal results, and the effects of Sculptra can last up to two years or more.
